6 of Our Favorite Fashion DIYs!

Are you looking for a way to look fashion forward on a budget? Well you’re in luck! Here are 6 Easy DIY Fashion Ideas that won’t put a dent in your bank summary and satisfy your fashionista needs!

1. Studded Shoes

I know I’m not the only one obsessed with studded shoes like the Unif “Hellraisers” and the Matiko “Lee” . Once you’re on the street wearing studded-style shoes, there is no doubt you won’t get stopped countless times by strangers asking, “Where did you get your shoes?” Now you can say, “I made them”. Purchase any type of shoe style, may it be wedges, flats, or even a Loafer. Along with the actually shoe, you need to purchase studs, spikes, or both, depending on your preference.

2. Collar tips

Ever since Balenciaga showed a modern take on western collar tips in the S/S 2011 collection, the new craze of collar tips was established and will defiantly not go out of fashion anytime soon. You will need 2 brass decorative corners, 2 clutch pin backs, a hammer, cutting pliers and super glue.

3. Neon Necklace

This may be one of the simplest DIY in this post! As you all may notice, neon statement necklaces are the hot items for the coming summer. A quick way to make your own neon necklace is by purchasing a rhinestone necklace or recycling one from your jewelry collection, and spray paint!

4. Half-Turban

This last year has definitely been the year of the half-turban. An easy way to whip up your own turban without going through the troubles of stepping out of your house, or out of your room in fact, is by grabbing one of your old scarfs, wrapping it around your head and securing it with a knot at the peak of your forehead. For a more detailed explanation, please refer to this video.

5.  Ombre Shirt

With summer comes the need to at least own one ombre shirt. If you’re like me, you’re not willing to spend over $100 on a ombre-style shirt. Here’s how you can save yourself from draining your bank account. All you need clothing dye, a shirt, salt, hot water, large container, rubber bands, plastic gloves, and a spray bottle filled with cold water. It is basically a typical “tie-dye” technique but ombre edition.

6. Elbow patch sweaters

To add a little bit of “oomph” to  one of your old sweaters attach adorable sweater patches in any shape you desire. For a more detailed explanation on how to make these patches please click here.
